The recipe is from Erica's Sweet Tooth (best baking blog EVER!) and I'll let you get it from there. Please ignore the superiority of her photos over mine-- not everyone can be a dental student, amazing baker, AND excellent photographer... some of us have LIVES.
However, I'm not fully convinced about this recipe because there's just so much darn chocolate (gasp!). I promise you I am a woman it's just that chocolate doesn't do it for me, I love the graham cracker and marshmallows. I attempted half the batch normal then topped the second half just with marshmallows-- the presentation left something to be desired. When I go for it a second time I think I'd like to sprinkle a fewer amount of mini chocolate chips (or none) in the batter to preserve the graham cracker flavor.
Whoa - smores cookies! I've made smores cupcakes before, but I think these have one over on those - I bet the batter to these is just fabulous, right? I must must must give these a try next time company comes over:) Like you suggested, I will probably cut back a little bit on the chocolate chips so it's not too overpowering to the graham cracker taste.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. They're wonderful. I've seen recipes where the marshmallow is actually rolled inside the dough like a little "surprise"... but those are way too complicated when your sweet tooth is screaming "FEED ME!"

ReplyDeleteHooray! Me too-- kind of obsessed with all things Smore. Never tried making cupcakes, but to be honest I'm not really a cupcake person (which probably makes me evil on some level). I want to try the Smore Bars pin on Pinterest next! Stay tuned.............
